Mrs. Karen Welte Gore is a Professor of Business Administration at Ivy Tech Community College. She also has experience as the Executive Director of the Ivy Tech Southwest Foundation and, prior to joining the College, worked as a marketing director in both for-profit and not-for-profit settings. She has served on the Ivy Tech Statewide 2013 Strategic Planning Team and the 2013 50th Anniversary Steering Committee.

In 2008, she won the Ivy Tech Glenn W. Sample Award for Excellence in Instruction, the statewide system's highest honor for teaching excellence. She has served as a facilitator for the Ivy Tech Academy of Instructional Excellence Master Teacher Retreat and on the Midwest Higher Education Compact Marketing Tuning Team funded by the Lumina Foundation.

How to Have a Successful Semester: Tip 1

Remember to allow time on task.

When an assignment is made, estimate the time you think it will take. Double that! It always takes more time to do something you are learning to do. Most students just do not allow enough time.
